What is SAP training?

It is no longer news that SAP certification is becoming increasingly valuable to organizations and businesses as SAP continues to add new tools, applications, and interfaces for nearly every area of business management. SAP is recognized worldwide for increasing oversight and efficiency in many sectors, including accounting, materials management and planning, so getting SAP training is readily available to those who wish to gain certification.

SAP training courses are divided into 2 types:

  • Technical.

The Technical SAP training focuses primarily on programming and module customization using ABAP, the coding language used within the SAP.

  • Functional.

The Functional SAP training is mainly focused on a single core topic, such as business objects, business intelligence, customer relationship management, finance accounting and controlling, sales and distribution and supply chain management.

SAP training consists of more than 20 modules between functional and technical types. Those that are from a core business operations background benefit most from functional training, while technical training is the best fit for those with previous knowledge in programming languages like Java & C++.

SAP training courses mainly include the following areas:

  • Billing
  • Commodity management
  • Business processes and scenarios
  • Master data
  • Data warehouses
  • Inventory and delivery processes

Levels of SAP training

SAP training offers multiple certification courses, often focusing on specific topics. The following are the foundational or basic levels of SAP certification:

  • Associate certification. The associate certification covers the foundational requirements for an SAP consultant, upon which more knowledge and wider areas of expertise can be built. Associate-level certification will give you the opportunity to compete in the job market.
  • Delta certification. The Delta certification builds upon the associate-level credential. The exam lasts for about ninety minutes and consists of about 40 questions. The major purpose of this examination is to keep you up-to-date on SAP skills and expertise.
  • Specialist certification. This certification builds on the Delta certification, focusing on specific topics or sections. The exam takes 90 minutes and can only be taken when you have successfully completed an associate certification exam.

Professional certification. The professional certification is the most advanced certification of the SAP certifications, and it requires documented project experience, business knowledge and a deep understanding of SAP solutions prior to testing. Professional-level certification gives you the opportunity to earn more money and advance your career substantially
